This building will offer many services that our current location does not have such as a bathing and shrouding (Ghusl & Kafan) room for the community, a bookshop, modern classrooms for our future full-time Islamic school Al-Hayaat, and larger, more modern office spaces for our staff.

Work on the new IHS building has been progressing gradually over the past few years, despite the COVID-19 pandemic and numerous obstacles we faced during this challenging time. On multiple occasions, the provincial government ceased all non-essential construction work in an effort to curb the spread of the virus – thus, we lost quite a bit of time. In addition, some donors who had pledged financial support were unable to fulfill their commitments. However, by the grace of the Almighty Creator, blessings of the Ahlulbayt (AS) and the undying support of our community, a majority of the project has now been completed. ​Costs​

​​​​​​​​The total project cost was $7 million CAD, which included the land, architecture, and legal and construction costs.  At the time of preparing this update, we have collected approximately $5.8 million. We are only $1.2 million short, and we are requesting Mo’mineen to assist in this noble cause.
