Fundraising Gala Dinner
On Friday, May 2nd, 2025, IHS proudly hosted its first-ever Tomorrow’s Leaders Fundraising Gala Dinner at Conestoga Banquet Hall in Waterloo, a landmark event that beautifully captured the spirit of community, vision, and the shared responsibility of raising future leaders. The event welcomed a diverse audience of families, youth, scholars, professionals, and local businesses who came together with a shared intention: to empower, uplift, and invest in the next generation. From 3:30 PM to 9:30 PM, the evening unfolded with an inspiring mix of wisdom, celebration, and heartfelt giving.
At the heart of the evening was a clear and powerful purpose: to raise $12,000 CAD in support of Tomorrow’s Leaders programs, including the annual summer and winter camps, as well as to enhance outreach and awareness of IHS’s dedicated youth subdivision. The Gala was more than just a fundraiser—it was a platform to highlight the importance of Islamic leadership development in the West, promote unity within our diverse communities, and offer youth a space where they feel seen, supported, and spiritually grounded.
The event was filled with engaging activities for all ages, thoughtfully curated local business booths, and a generous dinner served to over 200 guests. But the most moving moments came during the educational program, where our esteemed scholars—Shaikh Shafiq Hudda, Shaikh Abdulminam Chararah, Shaikh Sekou Ali, Sayed Jarry Haider Zaidi, Shaikh Hamam Nassereddine, and Shaikh Naeem Al-Amry—delivered powerful speeches that addressed the role of youth in Islamic revival, the challenges of identity and faith in Western society, and the sacred duty we share in building a resilient, value-driven generation. The atmosphere was electric with sincerity and purpose.
A major highlight of the night was the official introduction of the Tomorrow’s Leaders 2025 team, with Shaikh Naeem Al-Amry appointed as TL Principal, supported by Sr. Laila Frahmand and Br. Abdulh Al-Tamimi as Supervisors, and Sr. Zahra Mahbobi and Br. Ali Mahbobi as Youth Leads. Their passion, commitment, and vision were met with overwhelming community support and encouragement.
In a heartfelt tribute, the program also honored the memory of Uncle Sultan Hudda (Rahmatullah Alayh), whose legacy of service and compassion continues to inspire the Tomorrow’s Leaders mission. In his memory, a special fund was announced to support children from lower-income families, ensuring that financial hardship is never a barrier to participating in the camp. This gesture reflects Uncle Sultan’s lifelong commitment to uplifting others and creating opportunities for every child to grow in faith, character, and community.
The evening concluded with a lively raffle draw, bringing joy and excitement to the room and wrapping up the night with a spirit of unity and gratitude.
The Tomorrow’s Leaders Fundraising Gala Dinner was not just an event—it was a milestone in our collective journey, honoring the past, uplifting the present, and investing in the future. With the continued support of our community, we move forward with stronger purpose and unwavering faith in what we can achieve together.
